ACTRESS ANNOUNCED TO PLAY ELVIS' MUM IN NEW MOVIE
Maggie Gyllenhaal will play Gladys Presley, the King of Rock and Roll’s mother, in Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis.”
The Warner Bros. film stars Austin Butler in the title role and Tom Hanks as Elvis Presley’s manger, Colonel Tom Parker.
Luhrmann co-wrote the script with Craig Pearce. The movie revolves around the veteran manager and the young singer, who came from dirt-poor
origins to become an icon who changed the course of music history. The project marks Luhrmann’s first film since his 2013 adaptation of “The Great
Gatsby” starring Leonardo DiCaprio. He most recently worked on the Netflix series “The Get Down.” Production is expected to start this spring.
Throughout his career, Presley talked about his devotion to his mother, constantly calling her his number one girl. The close relationship is said to
have continued when the musician’s career took off and during Gladys’ bout of depression due to his time away from home.
Gyllenhaal just wrapped the final season of her critically acclaimed HBO drama series “The Deuce.” The role as Candy, the prostitute-turned-porn-
director earned her a Golden Globe nomination in 2018. On the film side, Gyllenhaal was most recently seen in Netflix pic “The Kindergarten
Teacher,” which also starred Gael Garcia Bernal.
Gyllenhaal is repped by WME and MGMT Entertainment.

PROOF OF CONCEPT TRAILER FOR 'TIGER MAN', ELVIS KUNG-FU MOVIE
I’ve got a proof-of-concept trailer to share with you today for an Elvis Presley Kung-Fu film titled Tiger Man. The trailer was sent over to us by the
writer and director James Campbell and it’s a fun concept that could work if done right.
Former WWE Superstar Paul London takes on the role of Elvis in the trailer, and the fight choreography was done by stunt performer Jean-Paul Ly
(The Gentlemen, F9, Hobbs & Shaw, Doctor Strange) and his team. Campbell noted:
"Our goal for TIGER MAN is to make a high-end concept concept test, which we hope to transform into a feature later … We believe we have done
something great that hopefully leaves people wanting more."
Check out the proof of concept trailer below and let us know if it looks like something you might enjoy.

STORIES BEHIND THE SONGS VOLUME 2
We're pleased to report that Matt Shepherd is set to release a follow up to his well received debut Elvis book and it will be available through Redshank
Books. 'Elvis Presley: Stories Behind The Songs Vol. 2' will be 240 pages and will be released on March 31, 2020.
This second volume begins 60 years ago when Elvis Presley returns from the army, wondering if he still has a career and massive fan base after
being away for two years. He needn't have worried himself, the fans lapped up his new and more ambitious recordings. Songs like It's Now or Never,
Return to Sender and many more sold in their millions proving the King was back!
Although many of Elvis' countless solid gold hits feature in the book, the author is also keen to explore the lesser-known album tracks including the
hugely underrated album Elvis is Back which came out 60 years ago this year (2020).
I hope the reader will look at each song in a different light maybe they will go and play the lesser heard songs and appreciate them in a whole different
way after reading the story behind that particular track. If it further builds on the fans' knowledge about Elvis and brings around a bigger appreciation
of Presley's music then the book will have achieved its purpose.
Matt Shepherd has presented several shows over the years for BBC Local Radio on Elvis Presley, including more than 50 with his good friend Freddy
Zapp on BBC Radio Cornwall. Matt has been an Elvis fan for more than 30 years and has amassed a huge collection of hundreds of records and Elvis
information over the years. He has written Elvis related articles for the BBC News website and Elvis publications. His has also interviewed many of
Elvis' friends over the last few decades including Jerry Schilling, George Klein, Larry Gellar and the late Joe Esposito.

DID ELVIS RECORD 'ITs ALL IN THE GAME'?
Youtube vlogger, Spa Guy has a new video out and one Eagle Eyed member of the FECC Elvis Forum noticed written on the box for the 'Flaming Star'
sessions, in-between takes is hand written notes that seems to say "He Solo's on totally Diff Song".
Then there is a line in pen from, the middle down to the bottom of the tape legend and again written in pen is the lyric, "Many a tear la la la but it's all
in the game R&B Song -- Probably from 60 - alone the background by musicians".
We know that Elvis sings a line or two of the beautiful "it's All In The Game" during 'Frankfort Special (Up-Tempo Take 3) at the 'G.I. Blues' Sessions.
