The meteoric rise and tragic demise of Elvis Presley has been depicted several times onscreen, and the story will be told one more time in an upcoming big-screen biopic from
director Baz Luhrmann (“Moulin Rouge!”, “The Great Gatsby”).

With the recent news that Austin Butler (“The Shannara Chronicles”) has landed the lead role as Presley and Tom Hanks is set to play manager Col. Tom Parker, the late star’s
former wife is offering her opinion about who she thinks should be portraying her in the still-untitled biopic.

The Blast caught up with Priscilla Presley at LAX, and asked her about who she’d like to see portray her, following reports that Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey are among those
reportedly in contention for the role.

“I like Lana,” declared Presley, clearly giving her stamp of approval to the singer behind such hits as “High By the Beach” and “Summertime Sadness”.

According to Radar Online, Del Rey is beyond keen to play Priscilla Presley, and has reportedly been “badgering” Luhrmann to cast her in the role. “Lana feels it’s the role she was
born to play,” said an insider.

If she does land the part, it won’t be the first time that Del Rey has been associated with one of Luhrmann’s projects; the director included her song “Young & Beautiful” on the
soundtrack for “The Great Gatsby”.
