On May 11, 2019, the Arthur Lyons Film Noir Festival of Palm Springs will be screening the WORLD PREMIER of the brand new 4K digital restoration of 'KING CREOLE' (1958) which is widely considered to be Elvis' greatest work on the Big Screen. Maybe we'll see a Blu-ray release in the near future?
The website advertising the screening points out, that the Paramount movie directed by the legendary Michael Curtiz was Elvis’ third starring role and remains his best work on screen. Of course, 'King Creole' is Elvis' fourth movie but was indeed his third starring role due to his first movie credited him as "Introducing Elvis Presley".

The rebellious teen-ager navigates a veritable tightrope between a legitimate singing career and a wholesome girl friend (Dolores Hart) vs. a criminal life while romancing the mistress (Carolyn Jones) of a vicious gangster (Walter Matthau). Produced by Hal Wallis and deftly helmed by Curtiz on location in New Orleans, this musical crime drama established Elvis as a legitimate actor with a stellar supporting cast including Paul Stewart and Vic Morrow.
