|UK CHART THIS WEEK
January 07, 2016 Brian Quinn / Elvis Express Radio
We Brits continue to go mad for Elvis as his latest posthumous album IF I CAN DREAM (Sony Music CG), a collaboration with Her Majesty's Philharmonic Orchestra, has now
reached triple-platinum status with sales of over 900,000 units in Blighty alone in just the first two months after it's release.
Sources say that this midweek figure of 23,000 takes sales to 903,000 so far, with the one Million mark now firmly in sight. Way to go Elvis Fans of the UK.
So, the Latest UK Album Chart Update (Sales to January 05th 2016) looks like this:
1 Adele - 25 (33.4k)
2 Elvis - If I Could Dream (28.7k)
3 Justin Bieber - Purpose (25.k)
4 Jess Glynne - I Cry When I Laugh (19.6k)
5 James Bay - Chaos and the Calm (13.5k)
Unless there is a sharp rise in sales for Elvis, it looks like he will continue to hold on at No.2 again this week. So why didn't he retake the Top Spot this week? Well, it sure doesn't
help that HMV online are currently out of stock.
Elvis and us fans can now look forward to the 1 millionth sales mark in around a month or so. David Bowie will be No.1 next week with his new album.
