JOHN UPDATE - Yesterday was asked that you
keep John in your hearts & minds but did not go into
any details. Well, it was feared that his Cancer had
returned and he was very scared for the future.
But we have now heard that it is not as bad as first
feared. John is seeing the Radiation doctor today to
get info on what treatment is needed and John will
be getting his chemo thru the pump which is at his
home. Radiation should be starting in a couple
weeks which will take 5 days a week directly at the
spot where the cancer is located. In an email to me
John said he was worried he would lose his Rock N
Roll hair, but the doctor says the chemo will be less
than what he had before so he should be OK.
The doctor is confident that the combination of both
treatments for 5 weeks will get rid of this cancer.
So please continue to keep John in your thoughts
and prayers and we will update you on any news.

BIG ELVIS HAPPENING IN HOLLAND- On May 2nd, 2010, “The Original Elvis Tribute”
will return to Holland for a show at the Effenaar in Eindhoven, one of Holland’s leading
concert venues. The show is being organized by the biggest Elvis fanclub in Holland, “Elvis
For Everyone”, who are celebrating their 15th anniversary this year. Fanclub president
Constatijn Zantingh is only 33 years old, making him one of the youngest Elvis fanclub-
presidents worldwide. Constatijn is always looking for new and innovative ways to promote
Elvis for a younger audience, and it seems that this is working well for him: “The magazine is
getting new members all the time. Our conventions are well attended. Our books are quite
popular; the ‘Images’ book was sold out within a matter of months. Volume 2 of that book
has just come out”, says Constatijn, who is very excited about the Eindhoven show: “We first
booked that show last year, and it was just tremendous. It’s a very special show, and Duke
Bardwell and Michael Jarrett really know how to connect with an audience. Ticketsales for the
concert in Eindhoven are quite strong already now, so I think it’s going to be a fantastic day”
Constatijn has made a promo video for the show, which you can see HERE

ELVIS IS TOP OF THE CROPS - Elvis has come top of the pile in a Head & Shoulders
survey of 4,000 members of the British public run by the Daily Express newspaper. Elvis
Presley' famous quiff (aka pompadour) took the prize for most classic hairstyle with a huge
50 percent of the vote. The King who would have turned 75 this past January beat out David
Beckham and mulleted British DJ Pat Sharp, who won 17 and 15 percent of the vote,
respectively. This is just another example of how Elvis is truly alive & well in the UK.

ELVIS WOWS THE 02 ARENA - E.E.R buddy, Brian Quinn was at the 02 Arena in
London for Elvis The Concert and sent us this report...
"It never fails to amaze me the number of people in attendance. I was 8 rows from the front in
the centre - really good tickets. Before and during the concert the whole stadium
demonstrated the 'Mexican Wave' just like at football matches. Amazing the amount of 'LOVE'
in the room. There must have been around 16 thousand (guess) in attendance and this was
near capacity for the way the concert was set up. The 'on stage' screen graphics are
amazingly clear and Nathan East on bass was fantastic. I have seen this Concert some 18
times and this was the first time 'Polk Salad Annie' actually worked all the way through. The
crowd clapping usually tapers off after the first minute or so due to the bass not being loud
enough. This time around it was fantastic and had me bouncing in my seat. Several fans
have commented on the 'low volume' of James' Burton's guitar and I brought this to the
attention of the Producer Stig Edgren in the hope that this will be rectified for future concerts.
On a personal note, I would have preferred that they kept 'Just Pretend' instead of 'What Now
My Love' this time around. However, I appreciate that changes have to be made now and then
to stop the show from going stale. Even the 'Love Me Tender' and 50's rock 'n' roll sequences
worked better this time around due to better editing.
I also attended the Wembley Concert and this was equally amazing. Great crowd reaction
during 'Suspicious Minds' and 'American Trilogy'. There is already talk of the Concert coming
back soon......Bring it on. I will be there.

THE MEMPHIS BOYS - Marty Lacker has informed us that the new book 'The Memphis
Boys" The Story About American Studios' by Roben Jones is out now.
Marty tells us, "In addition to the detail about the sessions, this book is a complete detail of
all the years of hits from American Studios and is full of reminisces of each and every
session cut there by Chips Moman,Tommy Cogbill, the American Band as well as
songwriters. It also has knowledgeable comments by a number of highly successful people
from other studios who are in awe of the accomplishments of the American guys.
I am also proud that it includes the work I did at American and the contributions I made to it
as well as many first hand quotes from me. I would still recommend it even if I was not in it.
Everyone who had anything to do with that studio from beginning to end has made
contributions to the book and you will learn of many inside anecdotes on the recording of
some of the biggest records in the history of the world. You'll also learn the reasons why
Chips turned down producing The Beatles as well as Bob Dylan after Elvis recorded there.
Anyone who has any interest in music would be remiss in not reading this book."
You can find out more about obtaining the book by going to the publisher, The University of
Ole Miss Press at www.upress.state.ms.us

PARKER FOUGHT VERNON AT ELVIS' FUNERAL - Film producer Jerry Weintraub
has revealed his new autobiography, ‘When I Stop Talking, You’ll Know I’m Dead,’ that he
broke up a fight at Elvis' funeral between the Kings father and manager.
Weintraub recalls Vernon Presley and Elvis' infamous manager Colonel Tom Parker, were in
a heated argument inside Graceland because Parker wanted to start selling Elvis themed
memorabilia to the thousands of devastated fans in mourning out in the street and Vernon
thought it was not appropriate and in bad taste.
Weintraud says, “I got between them and said something like, ‘What’s wrong with you guys?
The body’s in the next room. We’re about to leave for the funeral. Have some respect,’”
The Hollywood producer went on to say: “What a bizarre moment, the entire world were all
gathered around the house in tears and in a room in that house, was the old man and the
Colonel arguing about T-shirts.”

the master recordings from the 'Viva Elvis' stage show and to

topped the charts worldwide. More news as we get it.

WACKO' BROTHER SELLS OFF ELVIS JACKET - Michael Jackson's older brother
Tito is being forced to place a rare Elvis Presley jacket under the hammer to clear debts
worth 17,000 pounds. The 56-year-old was purportedly forced to let go of the item after former
friend Matt Fiddes filed a lawsuit against him over an unpaid 12,000-pound bill. Bailiffs were
sent in to recover the money from Tito Jackson's London agent Ron Winter, who is contesting
the order.
Goods included a jacket which belonged to the real King of Pop, Elvis Presley, which was
given as a gift from Elvis' daughter Lisa Marie Presley, who handed Jackson the jacket as
direct from the Graceland archives.

ANOTHER FAKE MAKES THE NEWS - If it's not a
bogus bus, it's a bogus bodyguard and now it's a bogus
autograph hitting the headlines and as always, E.E.R is
there to try to stop fans from spending their cash on
crap.
In New Zealand, a local sale has made the news
thanks to a album said to be signed by Elvis Presley.
On the back of the album 'Elvis Sings Country
Favourites' it is signed Elvis Aaron Presley and while the
man behind the sale says "We can't actually say
whether that signature is genuine, but it's an interesting
question."
We have contacted the news channel to inform them
that not only is the autograph FAKE but the album was
not issued until 7 years AFTER Elvis died. The album
was released by Readers Digest in 1984.

IN DEBT TO VEGAS - On a BBC TV show, 'The Lure Of Las Vegas' which was first aired
on March 6th and presented by Alan Yentob of which there was enormous amount of footage
of him doing things like driving, gambling, talking etc. Howver, this was a rather interesting
documentary, with interesting interviews with people who got teary over Sinatra and intimated
that the mob connections of Vegas were to be mourned in their passing.
Yentob also met with Wayne Newton, Vegas legend and – I strongly suspect – one of the
undead who roam the earth hiding behind botox and ill-fitting head rugs. Also included in the
documentary was the revelation that Elvis and his unscrupulous manager Col. Tom Parker
were in debt to the casinos for $39 million (A massive amount back in the 70's). But I am
sure if the truth be known, the main bulk of the debt, if not all of it, was down to Parker and
Elvis was kept performing in Vegas for so long and for so little money in order to pay of the
debts of his manager.

NO BONUS FOR ON TOUR DVD - We have waited years for it to come to our homes on
DVD and now that it finally is, we hear that 'Elvis On Tour' comes with absolutely no bonus
footage. Elvis Matters were apparently told by Jerry Schilling that while the film itself is owned
by Warner Bros, the outtakes are owned by Turner Classics, and while both parties tried to
come to an agreement, the negotiations were unsuccessful...no doubt due to everybody
wanting the biggest piece of the pie. Bottom line is that once again Elvis fans get short
changed and we get a DVD at full price containing nothing extra and nothing new. I guess all
we can hope for now is that the film will be released with the soundtrack at the correct speed
and the footage completely digitally remastered.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 12th
RETURN OF THAT FOOTAGE - It failed to sell first time round but the footage claiming
to be unreleased of Elvis is back on the auction block. On March 16th Leslie Hindman
Auctioneers will be auctioning off Lot 403: "An original unaired series of home videos
narrated by Priscilla Presley, comprising two 8mm film reels. In the film, Presley explains it
contains some of her precious memories of the days she had with Elvis. The two reels of film
show Elvis and his friends wrestling on the tour bus, Elvis and Priscilla riding golf carts at
Graceland, and other intimate moments of unseen footage".
I am wondering just how much of this is actually unreleased? From the description we have
all seen the footage before, first on the original 'Joe Esposito's Home Movies of Elvis' first
issued through Elvisly Yours and then later footage released on 'Elvis By The Presleys' and
other titles. The description goes on to say, "Retrieved by the present owner from an
abandoned storage locker. These reels are being sold as is without copyright".
I do love the abandoned storage locker....it reminds me of the abandoned salt mines where
the 'Lost Performances' were found. The fact that this footage has narration by Priscilla
means these are at best, outtakes from the 'Elvis By The Presleys' documentary. Plus the fact
that it comes with NO COPYRIGHT tells me this really is pretty much priceless....sorry, I mean
worthless.

ARE THE JAILHOUSE JACKETS REAL? - On March 1-10, the Gotta Have It! Music
Memorabilia Auction went live on gottahaverockandroll.com and on that was a red jacket said
to be the one worn by Elvis during publicity shots for the 'Jailhouse Rock' movie. The estimate
was $10,000 but after 9 bidders it sold for a massive $41,434.80 [£27,334.97], but is the
jacket even real?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You see, when this one sold in New York, there
was another red jacket claiming to be the very
same as the same thing on display at the Hard
Rock Cafe in Gothenburg, Sweden.
So which one, if any, are real?
The New York auction one had two labels sewn
inside. First is "Macgregor" who manufactured it &
below that is a "Lansky's" label. One fan over on the
FECC forum tells us he showed the picture to
Bernard Lansky and asked if it looked like the real
thing iand he said it didn't. If it had a Lansky tag, it
was made for Lansky's, otherwise it would just
have the tag of the original manufacturer.
But wait....Another fan points to a THIRD jacket
which is on display at the 'Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of
Fame Museum' in Orlando and the tag apparently
clearly stated Elvis Presley and MGM.
So we have THREE Jailhouse Rock jackets and no
real way of knowing what one is the definitive one
so to speak. The Rock n Roll hall of fame does
sound more likely but with Bernard Lansky saying
the label thing would never happen then it does
look like it's a 41 thousand dollar fake?

SHOW PROBLEMS - As regular listeners will know, there have been a few technical
problems in trying to bring you your shows as usual. These problems are escalating as you
will hear at the end of this weeks love show. I need a complete overhaul and upgrade of the
shows equipment that I use to bring you your shows.
While Lana and I do try to keep things ticking over, there are times when things arise that are
beyond our finances and this is one of those times. We are trying to find a way to cover the
costs to get the right work and upgrades carried out to enable us to continue to bring you your
shows 3 times a week. Of course, your donations are a fantastic help and without you there
would be no show at all and so as always, thank you. We need your continued help and
support to be able to get things sorted out to be able to continue with these shows into the
future.
Until such a time that Lana and I can save/raise the money we will of course continue with
the shows as best as possible but we apologise if any upcoming shows are not their usual
length or suffer interruptions etc. Thanks for your understanding and if you would like to help
with any donation then all you need is a debit/credit card or paypal funds and follow the

SHERRILL NIELSEN HIT WITH CANCER - Not the best news to come home to, but we
hear that Elvis backing singer, Sherrill Nielsen has been hit with lung cancer. He has started
his chemo therapy treatments and found that he was a candidate for a new drug Erbitux,
which they started Thursday. He will start radiation this week. So his schedule will be chemo
once a week, Erbitux once a week, and radiation every day. They will do this for 2 months and
then reassess the situation. I know that Elvis fans everywhere will keep Sherrill in their hearts
& minds.

ZIPPIN PIPPIN SAVED - Yesterday (Thursday), the mayor of Green Bay finalised a deal to
buy Elvis' favourite fairground ride, the roller coaster known as the zippin' Pippin'.
The cost of $35,000 allows Green Bay the rights to the name, design & the history of the ride,
then it will cost a further $3 million dollars to recreate Elvis' roller coaster and work is about to
start on finding private funding to cover the cost. Jim Schmitt announced work is expected to
start this summer and end around May of 2011. Schmitt says, "Elvis would be proud of the
city's purchase." Schmitt also indicated that the concessions around the ride will have an
Elvis themed menu, including peanut butter & banana sandwiches.

ELVIS ROYALTIES UP 34.6% - Elvis may have left the building, but his star power is still
growing. Elvis Presley Enterprises parent company CKx Inc. released its annual report
Tuesday, which showed a 34.6 percent increase in Presley royalties and licensing revenue.
The Presley business segment of CKx brought in $24.473 million in royalties and licensing
revenue in 2009, compared to $18.186 million in 2008. Attendance at Elvis’ Memphis home
was also up in 2009. 542,728 people went to Graceland in 2009, a 1.2 percent increase
compared to 536,196 in 2008.
Revenue from Graceland’s operations fell slightly to $36.124 million in 2009, a 1.6 percent
drop compared to $36.713 million in 2008.
CKx also noted in the report that its planned, $250 million redevelopment initiative for
Graceland and the surrounding area would need some retooling. It has been short on
specifics for its redevelopment plan since it began acquiring land surrounding the deceased
star's Whitehaven mansion.
“The company has determined that there is a strong likelihood that the original preliminary
design plans may require significant modifications or abandonment for a redesign due to the
current economic conditions and a lack of certainty as to exact scope, cost, financing plan
and timing of this project,” according to the report.
Another wrinkle in the redevelopment effort is the recently terminated relationship between
CKx and FX Real Estate and Entertainment Inc. The two companies entered into an
agreement in 2007 that would grant FXRE the exclusive right to own, develop and operate
Elvis-themed hotels, casinos and other real estate-based projects. The relationship officially
dissolved earlier this month when FXRE failed to make its annual $10 million guaranteed
royalty payment, according to CKx’s report.
FXRE originally was set to develop one or more hotels at Graceland as a piece of the
redevelopment project.
CKx wrote off $900,000 in deferred costs related to preliminary design work for the
redevelopment, but also said it “remains committed to the Graceland redevelopment and will
continue to pursue opportunities on its own or with third parties.”
CKx, through a partnership with Cirque du Soleil, recently opened a permanent live theatrical
show based on the life, times and music of Elvis. The show, presented at the new Aria
Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas strip, opened performances in February.
New York-based CKx (NYSE: CKXE) maintains an 85 percent ownership in Elvis Presley
Enterprises.

ELVIS PRESLEY TO BE SOLD OFF, AGAIN! - The American licensing company that
owns the rights to Elvis Presley's name is preparing to be 'All Shook Up'.
For CKX, the New York-based entertainment group of which widow Priscilla Presley is a
director, is in talks to be bought by a division of JP Morgan Chase for more than $500m.
(£333m). CKX, which also controls the rights to 'American Idol' in the US, is in detailed
negotiations with One Equity Partners, the private equity vehicle of the global banking
conglomerate.
Talks between the two are understood to centre on a buy-out which value CKX's shares at
approximately $6 a piece, valuing the company at approximately $560m.
As part of the deal, Bob Sillerman, CKX's chief executive, is likely to hold on to his 21pc stake.
CKX on Monday confirmed it is in "discussions regarding a possible transaction involving the
sale of the company" without disclosing who it is talking to. Shares in CKX rose seven cents
to $6.03.
The New York-based entertainment rights specialist's properties include 19 Entertainment,
the company behind the American Idol franchise which also controls contestants careers
and their music.
In 2007, British entertainment impresario Simon Fuller – who sold 19 to CKX in 2005 – and
Mr Sillerman attempted to take CKX private, but the deal floundered as a result of the
economic crisis. Earlier this year, in spite of reports that Mr Fuller was on the verge of again
trying to take CKX private, he stepped down from the company to focus on a new solo venture
Other CKX properties include Elvis Presley's Graceland home in Memphis, as well an 85
percent interest in his name, image and likeness. The company also earns money from
television programmes and his films, as well as certain parts of his music back catalogue.
CKX also owns the rights to the name, image and likeness of boxer Muhammad Ali, as well
as the popular So You Think You Can Dance television show, whose US and UK versions
are both hosted by Cat Deeley.
