SONY PLANS A YEAR OF ELVIS 35 - Welcome to 2012, a year
which marks the 35th anniversary of Elvis' passing and what will be a year
long celebration of his life and legacy.

A full release schedule of catalog reissues and new compilations are
planned by longtime Elvis archivists and co-producers Ernst Mikael
Jørgensen and Roger Semon. Full details as we get them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
first two discs of this nine-disc set are "That's All Right, Mama" (Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup),
"Good Rockin' Toniight" (Roy Brown), "I Don't Care If the Sun Don't Shine" (Patti Page and
Dean Martin), "Baby, Let's Play House" (Arthur Gunter), "Mystery Train" (Hank "Little Junior"
Parker), "I Love You Because" (Ernest Tubb and Leon Payne), "Hound Dog" (Big Mama
Thornton and Freddie Bell & the Bell Boys) and "When My Blue Moon Turns to Gold Again"
(Wiley Walker & Gene Sullivan, Cindy Walker).

A great example of what Elvis brought to a song is "(There'll Be) Peace in the Valley (For Me)"
by Elvis and the two versions that follow. Mahalia Jackson's version is a gospel-laden
spiritual version. Red Foley's clearly shows that his version heavily influenced Elvis'
arrangement, but in the end, elements from both were used by Elvis.

And the range of singers whose songs were interpreted by Elvis is rarely wider than the ones
whose versions of "Are You Lonesome Tonight" are included: Al Jolson, Jaye P. Morgan and
Blue Barron & His Orchestra.

The track list goes chronologically in the order Elvis recorded them from 1954 through 1960
and features the Elvis songs first, then the originals. The set also includes a small booklet
with notes in both German and English. The list of artists featured covers a wide swath, from
Bill Monroe ("Blue Moon of Kentucky"), Jane Froman ("I Believe"), Gene Autry ("Blueberry Hill"),
Johnnie Ray ("Such a Night") and Cliff Richard ("I Gotta Know").

It's too bad that, for whatever reason, an American record company can't do something like
this.
"Made Famous By Elvis Presley" is a great idea and one that fans will want to study.

EDDIE MURPHY ON ELVIS A RACIST - Rolling Stone Magazine carried out an
interview with Hollywood Comedy Movie Star Eddie Murphy and asked him about Elvis and
the whole unfounded racist lies first spread by some tabloid trash in 1957. Elvis was then
asked about this fabricated racist remark by 'JET', the prominent black newspaper.
Elvis honestly replied,
"I never said anything like that, and people who know me know that I
wouldn't have said it."
The question asked to Eddie Murphy was;

Have you had to defend your Elvis fandom to African-Americans who think he was racist?

"The big myth in the African-American community was that he said that the only thing that
black folks could do for him was shine his shoes and buy his records. People liked him
when they were young, then said, "I don't like him because he said that," and I said, "he never
even said that."

FANS ROBBED AT GRACELAND - For Elvis fans around the world, Graceland in
Memphis, Tenn., is their Mecca. Unfortunately, an impromptu visit to The King's home on
Christmas Day by the Ruston family was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Shannon MacKenzie of Downsville said her 13-year-old son, Dustyn, was diagnosed with
leukaemia on Dec. 15. The family spent their Christmas in Memphis at
St. Jude Children's
Research Hospital
. While they were there, Dustyn wanted to get out of the hospital for a while.

"He was just tired of being cooped up all day," MacKenzie said. Young Dustyn is a huge fan of
Elvis and wanted to visit the rock 'n' roll legend's famous home since they were there!

On Christmas Day, the family pulled up to Graceland in their van, but it was closed.
"I went to
the guard shack up front to talk to them,"
MacKenzie said. "I wanted to see when would be a
good time to come back."

While she was talking to Graceland officials at the gates, Dustyn and his brother, Dakota, sat
in vehicle. Then all of a sudden a man suddenly opened a door of the van and grabbed the
purse belonging to Shannon MacKenzie. Both youngsters were shocked but Dakota, her
youngest son, was balled up in the vehicle, shaking.

"I was in shock," MacKenzie said. "I just thought, 'How could you?'" Her son gave Memphis
police a description of the man, who has yet to be identified.
"He said after he took my purse,
he turned around and started laughing about it,"

Even more discouraging, is the fact that officials at Graceland have not been very helpful.
"They've been hateful," MacKenzie said. "They said they didn't want this kind of publicity and
did not file an internal report like they were supposed to."

Graceland officials provided video surveillance to authorities in Memphis, but they said the
security footage was in poor quality. She said after the incident, she and her family have
sworn off visiting any other parts of the city.

"We just go to the hospital and back to where we are staying," MacKenzie said. She said
authorities have kept her updated on the incident.

ED: Would it be so hard for EPE to have helped this family out by offering them a special tour
of Graceland, being picked up from their hotel and taken back again?

MADE FAMOUS BY ELVIS - As Elvis Presley's 77th
birthday approaches Jan. 8, there will certainly be a lot of
discussion of his pioneering music. But it's not often that
there is discussion of what he brought to the songs he
covered as compared to the originals.

A recently released German box set on the Membran
label, however, does precisely that.
"Made Famous By
Elvis Presley"
features 75 Elvis songs and 102 earlier
versions of them before he recorded them.

Among the Elvis songs and the originals featured on the
first two discs of this nine-disc set are "That's All Right,
site, just as Elvis did, by providing walking trails, horse riding (hopefully creating a safe haven
for rescue horses) and other outdoor activities (all with easy access for the disabled).

"We envisage the inclusion of a small museum and shop, along with a longer-term plan to
provide a small amount of accommodation. Considerable numbers of Elvis fans already visit
the site in its run down condition and are thrilled just to catch a glimpse of the ranch house,
lake, bridge and cross - when the ranch is restored we can guarantee increased visitor
numbers. The Mississippi Tourist Organisation already recognise the site in their literature
and web-site and see its potential if developed in the right way."

At a recent meeting held in Memphis the team discussed the possibility of fans being able to
buy a 'share' in the ranch; this idea has been met with enthusiasm and is something the
foundation are looking to pursue.

"We are doing our utmost to find an individual or group of people who share our dream and
have the funding to buy the ranch and with the help and support of fans from all over the world
will rescue, renovate and restore the ranch to how Elvis knew and loved it.." (

BACHMAN OUT; BLAME ELVIS - Michele Bachmann is out, and Elvis did her in?

She whipped a South Carolina crowd into a frenzy last summer with her big smile, her even
bigger campaign bus, and this unfortunate shout-out:
“Let’s all say happy birthday to Elvis
Presley today!”
But the King was born in January. The day she made that speech was the
anniversary of his death in August.

Was that the decisive moment in Bachmann’s campaign? No. But it sure didn’t help.

Neither did another misstep, when she told voters in Waterloo, Iowa, that she had the same
spirit as their hometown boy, the legendary actor
John Wayne. But he never lived there. John
Wayne Gacy did. He was a serial killer who dressed up like a clown.

TUPELOVE FILM -  If you have not seen this new tourist information film yet, then please

Mind you, the film does claim young Elvis would always visit

little piece of twisting history, the film is very enjoyable...apart from some IMP-OID sounding
individual warbling away on the soundtrack.

Will it be a release date of the SUN project (at last)? Maybe the "Roustabout" tapes have

TCB Band, singers and a
16-piece orchestra perform live in sync with Elvis. All music heard in the concert production is
performed live. Elvis concert footage for the show comes primarily from the MGM concert
films
Elvis, That's The Way It Is (1970) and Elvis on Tour (1972); outtakes from these two
films as seen in the video package entitled
Elvis, The Lost Performances; and the historic
1973 global television special
Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii, via Satellite. This footage contains
some of Elvis' finest performances from the concert era of his career.

MIND BLOWING BURNING LOVE REMAKE -  When I saw this story on the official
Elvis.com website which was dated today (Dec 12, 2012), I could not help but feel Deja Vu, &
I was right.

This news item was first published right here on E.E.R back on May 25th 2011 and was then
given the headline,
"BURNING LOVE REVISITED". I have decided to re-publish this for those
who missed it first time around.

A remake of one of Elvis' hit songs takes on a life of its own on
Viva ELVIS The Album.
In a recent article, NPR writer March Hirsh writes about the reinvented version of
"Burning
Love."

"It's a mind-blowing, left-field recasting of a familiar song. But even so, it remains
fundamentally true to the underlying components that made
"Burning Love" what it was in
the first place, including the chord progression. Most importantly, there's that vocal, brash and
richly authoritative, rippling with life in its new surroundings and demonstrating that Elvis
Presley was still capable of magic, if only his material could keep up with him."

Vocals from the 1972 recording are paired with a guitar part from The Hives' "Walk Idiot
Walk."
Hirsh describes the baseline as a "furious drumbeat pummeling away at full force"
and compares the audio logistics to the same techniques used for Elvis' hit song
"A Little
Less Conversation."

The new song is an ethereal blend of country, soul, rock and gospel, just like the diverse
catalog of the King of Rock and Roll. Its lyrics praise the two legendary men, who, in different
ways, spread messages of love and acceptance.

"Dr. King's contribution to civil rights is an unassailable matter of history. Elvis' disregard of
the division of race in music helped changed music forever,"
Pam tells The Boot. "My friend
Brenda O'Brien, who grew up during the turbulent times of the civil rights struggle right in the
middle of the Memphis music scene, saw the connection. She brought this song idea to me
and all I did was help her see her vision through. It's just an earnest attempt to honor both
man's memories and ask, 'what will you do to make the world a better place?'"

Brenda O'Brien's family owned famous Memphis night club, the Plantation Inn, which hosted
not only celebrities (including Elvis) but also a mix of races back in the '40s and '50s, when
segregation was still rampant.

Along with Brenda, Kris Thomas is also a famous face on the Memphis music scene. He
calls working with the Grammy-winning, legendary Pam Tillis "a thrill and an education."

"The message of this song is so powerful and relevant, especially in our world today," says
the soulful singer. "All the connections to Memphis make this song really special to me being
a Memphis native."

Pam and Kris filmed the video in Memphis with director Molly Secours. The timing of its
release falls just between what would have been Elvis' 77th birthday, this past Sunday, Jan.
8, and Martin Luther King Day, which is this Monday, Jan. 16.

UK ELVIS STATUE PAWNED - Here in the UK,
times, are tough, even the UK's only life-size bronze
statue of the King has found his way to the pawn shop.

In the Victoria branch of
T.M. Sutton pawnbrokers,
between the glass cabinets of designer watches and
jewelry, stands a statue of Elvis Presley.

Its one-time owner,
Sid Shaw, made headlines in the
late 1990s with a landmark ruling that changed UK
trademark law forever, winning the rights to distribute
Elvis merchandise across Europe, leaving the Presley
estate powerless in the UK.

“They sued me on the basis that I sold Elvis Presley
ladies underwear with ‘Are You Lonesome Tonight?’,
‘It’s Now or Never’,
and ‘Love Me Tender’ on them,”
Shaw told the Huffington Post UK.
''Now the Elvis estate
who sells Elvis Presley panties. And yet that’s what they sued me for.”

After the ruling, Shaw, who runs the website Elvisly Yours, was left with 38 trademarks in the
UK and Europe. However, soon afterwards his wife was diagnosed with cancer. He looked
after her for seven years until her death, before deciding to resurrect the business. The
banks, however, were not forthcoming.

“The banks are a joke,” Shaw said. “They look at the bottom line, and the bottom line is that
my wife was ill with cancer and I neglected my business. But I own the rights to Elvis Presley
and those trademarks have value.”

In need of capital, Shaw turned to T.M. Sutton, pawning a statue that had travelled with him
up and down the country and overseas, got him across borders without a passport, saved
him from arrest and made appearances in a Rolling Stones music video, on Top of the Pops
and Blue Peter is horrible to even imagine.

In an austere office behind three more locked doors, Jim Tannahill, T.M. Sutton’s director,
explained that Shaw’s story is increasingly typical in an environment where credit for
businesses and individuals is constrained.

Sid Shaw is still holding out some hope that he might get his statue back, although after the
loan went through an injury left him incapacitated for a year, temporarily derailing his
business plans. If not, he said, there are plenty of casinos and Elvis museums that would be
willing to take it off Jim Tannahill’s hands.

The songs are perfectly legal to be released under the EU

sure about the rights to use the RCA VICTOR logo."
They have
asked Ernst Jorgensen who was unsure and advised, "this

WHAT SPECIAL FTD NEWS? -  A few days ago, we reported
what at the time was unconfirmed news from an FECC Member
named Tony that, in his words... a branch leader of the OEPFC are
"'waiting for some very special news from the Follow That Dream
people."
And followed this up with "The UK Fan Club have delayed
the printing of their Feb / March issue to accommodate this 'news /
announcement."

It seems Todd Slaughter sent out a memo to his branch leaders
which informed them to watch for a special announcement and
that the Feb/March issue of the OEPFC official fan magazine is
being delayed so it could include this special news.

Of course, this got speculation doing over time as all kinds of
thoughts came in from fans around the world who were excited at
what this special news was going to be?

But then another FECC member, Daryll, wrote
"Any possibility that
this is nothing more than Todd Slaughter trying to drum up support
/ money for his operation / fan magazine. To me this sounds as if
there is no "special" announcement coming from FTD, other than
the next batch of regular FTD releases. "

And this was followed by Ernst Jorgensen, "Daryl is right on every
account - an anouncement will be made in early February - and it's
just a regular announcement - and NO price increases."

THE ELVIS KINGMAN -  Fender’s acoustic division
proudly hails the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll and transports players
back in time to 1967 with the introduction of the Elvis
Kingman acoustic guitar, a sharp looking, rich-sounding
version of the carefree Fender acoustic that Elvis Presley
wielded with consummate cool in the late ’60s. Check out
the pics from NAMM 2012 below!

In addition to honouring the king, the Elvis Kingman
dreadnought also successfully recreates Fender’s famous
mid-’60s “Wildwood” finish, in which living beech trees that
provided the backs and sides of the unusual instruments
were dyed with several striking colors before being cut down
and made into guitars.

Highly distinctive features of the Elvis Kingman include
Presley’s signature on the front of the Wildwood-style
headstock, solid spruce top with scalloped X-bracing for full,
resonant tone and durability, laminated Wildwood-style back

days already defined
“the best ever Elvis remix”: an awesome new version of the Elvis
classic
“Blue Suede Shoes”, destined to become a chart topper.

Produced by world famous international DJ and producer
Spankox (aka Agostino Carollo),
who also produced the
“Baby Let’s Play House” n.1 remix hit for Elvis, the “Re:Versions”,

NORBERT PUTNAM JOINS 2012 ELVIS TOUR - Great news for fans going to see
this year's
'Elvis Presley In Concert' tour. Bass player Norbert Putnam is signed up to join
the TCB band for the March 2012 European tour.

Norbert Putnam first played bass on Elvis' 1966 recording
"Beyond The Reef" after producer
Felton Jarvis brought him in to overdub bass onto the song in August of 1968.

The first time he played in a session with Elvis was during the 4 day marathon of June 1970
which produced 37 songs. Putnam went on to play bass on 122 Elvis recordings of the 70's
with his last bass playing for Elvis being overdubbed on the April 24th 1977 "Live" recording
of
"Unchained Melody" (Overdubbed June 9th 1977).

Norbert Putnam replaces Nathan East, the excellent and funky bass player who replaced
regular TCB Band member Jerry Scheff.

SUCH A NIGHT IN PEARL HARBOR - Memphis
Recording Service in association with JAT Productions
will release the next Elvis Presley titled ‘Such A Night in
Pearl Harbor’ in March 2012. It will contain a completely
new re-mastered CD of Elvis’ performance of the benefit
concert recorded at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on March 25th
1961 to aid of the USS Arizona Memorial Fund.

The quality is of this concert is far superior than anything
of this ever released before and will now be considered,
one
one of the best Elvis concert recordings up until that time. Amazing samples of this will be
available in the coming week.

Elvis performs 15 songs and sings every one as if it were the first time he had ever
presented them to an audience. This includes many #1 hits and includes classics that were
never performed previously or again such as ‘A Fool Such As I’, ‘I Need Your Love Tonight’
and more.

Also included for the first time ever, is the 30 minute radio broadcast from Hawaii a week
before Elvis’ arrival. It promoted the concert for the memorial fund, playing selected tracks
from Elvis’ Christmas and ‘His Hand in Mine’ album, released at that time including words by
Elvis Presley.

As a bonus, the CD is accompanied by a 100 page hard back book that contains many rare
photographs with extensive and informative linear notes detailing Elvis’ arrival and
performance in Hawaii.

2012 THE YEAR OF ELVIS - EPE is pulling out all
the stops for Elvis’ 35th anniversary. When describing
the upcoming 35th anniversary of the death of the King of
Rock ‘n’ Roll, Kevin Kern of EPE said 2012 could bring
more fans to town than ever before.

During Elvis Week alone in 2007, the 30th anniversary of
Presley’s death, Graceland saw 75,000 visitors.

With such high expectations, Kern said, the planning for
the 2012 festivities began two years ago.

"We traditionally have music events at the Orpheum or
the Cannon Center, but this year they’ll be at the
FedExForum, that’s the size and scope of a major
anniversary year for us."
"I’m pretty close to sold out that Elvis Week," said Tabor, who is general manager of the
Holiday Inn.
"I’ve got groups coming from the UK, from Europe. You see a large influx of
European traffic during that time."

This month's Elvis Cruise saw over 2,000 passengers on the Carnival Fascination cruise
line from Jacksonville, Florida to Nassau in the Bahamas.

In addition there will be special 35th anniversary merchandise blitz domestically and
internationally plus Elvis tribute artist contests in more than 30 cities around the world, the
winners of which will come to Memphis during Elvis Week for the ultimate ETA contest.

Following Elvis Week, in September, EPE will also take their Elvis exhibition to Brazil.
"It is the
largest Elvis exhibition outside Graceland ever, anywhere in the world,"
Kern said. "We’ll be
taking around 500 artifacts from Graceland to Sao Paolo, Brazil. There are a lot of Elvis fans
in Brazil. … There is a lot of activity with fans from Brazil on Facebook and Elvis.com, and
Elvis records still sell well in Brazil."

Graceland typically opens one to two new exhibits during the year as exhibits are rotated in
and out but this year have opened three. One exhibit celebrates the 40th anniversary of
"Elvis
On Tour"
one of Presley’s most critically acclaimed films, winning a 1973 Golden Globe for
Best Documentary.

Another,
"Icon: The Influence of Elvis Presley," will be put on in partnership with The Rock and
Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, and is a celebration of artists influenced by
Presley.

The third "Elvis Through A Daughter’s Eyes" may be the most personal exhibit as it
chronicles the relationship of Lisa Marie Presley with her father.
"We’ve got a great lineup of exhibits and our archive staff is very, very busy," Kern said. "Three
exhibits is a massive undertaking."

FAKE ELVIS STUDIO MIC - They say there' one born every
born every minute. And in the case of this unbelievably obvious
fake
"Elvis used studio microphone", there' 38 of them who have
taken the price of this up to $935.00 and with 2 days to go.

The ebay listing comes with a full COA (we all know how trusted
those are right?), and tells the history of how this mic was,
"used by Elvis at the RCA Memphis studio to record numerous
songs."

RCA Memphis Studio? The buzzer sounds as someone did not
correctly do their homework for there never was an RCA Studio
in Memphis.
The main bulk of the sellers description is as follows; "Accompanied by an L.A. Props letter
stating “The subject Microphone was acquired from retired Sound Engineer Larry Finch. Mr.
Finch was a member of the sound crew who updated the equipment in the studio at Elvis’s
request.”

Also accompanied by an additional L.A. Props LOA. It also states this microphone was used
by Elvis at the RCA Memphis studio to record numerous songs.(it does not specify which
songs)..It also comes with a 3rd certificate letter fom a national auction.... as you can see by
the images this item should be in a museum, however i was able to come across it for
purchace and now offer it to you...This will only go up in value and will be treasured for years
to come...Outstanding provinence so there is no question it is authentic."

Its likely that the person selling this has been duped himself by some vile, scheming,
underhanded individual who has created this highly fictitious story about Elvis using this
microphone to record
"unknown songs in RCA Memphis Studio".

Oh and as for Larry Finch? There is no record of a Larry Finch working with Elvis Presley as
his sound engineer. And the only Larry Finch with a connection to Memphis is a player and
coach for the
University of Memphis men's basketball team. He is perhaps most famous for
leading the
Memphis State Tigers to the NCAA men's basketball championship game in
1973. Larry Finch died in Memphis on April 2, 2011(aged 60).

I am sending the information to the ebay seller and hope he will take it back from where it
came and get a refund!  (

ELVIS MAKES HISTORY IN '58 - On this day in 1958, Elvis Presley was at #1 on the
U.K. singles chart with
"Jailhouse Rock." It became the first-ever single to enter the chart at
no. 1 and was Presley's second U.K. #1. It went on to sell more than 4 million copies in the
U.S.

Written by the hall of fame songwriting team of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, Elvis Presley's
"Jailhouse Rock" was released in the U.S. on September 24, 1957 to coincide with The
King's third film (and first with MGM), Jailhouse Rock.

Elvis actually contributed a bit to the song, including phrasing the term "crack, boom, bang"
drummer, which referred to William Thomas Fairbanks, who played drums with Elvis. Some
of the other characters in the song are actually real people, too. "Shifty Henry," who is
portrayed in the song as a criminal, was actually a renowned Los Angeles-based musician,
while the "Purple Gang" was a real mob of n'er-do-wells.

Scores of artists have covered
“Jailhouse Rock” over the years, including Jerry Lee Lewis,
Merle Haggard, Miranda Lewis, Patti Smith, ZZ Top
and a host of others. John Belushi and
Dan Akroyd
closed out their Blues Brothers film with a prison house performance of the
song, which also featured
Ray Charles and Cab Calloway.

ABBA recorded with song with Olivia Newton-John and Andy Gibb, while Queen regularly
performed the song live in a classic rock medley. They even made it their opening number
during their 1980 North American tour in support of their
The Game album.

Rolling Stone magazine ranked “Jailhouse Rock” #67 on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs
of All Time, while the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame named it one of the 500 Songs that Shaped
Rock and Roll.

SLOW SALES FOR UK TOUR - A reliable source informs us that the promoter for the
UK tour of
"Elvis In Concert" is worried due to tickets not selling well. There is still hope for a
last minute rush of sales.

Another source reports that one UK Elvis organisation leader has stated some UK dates
could find themselves being cancelled if things don't improve. The Elvis fan leader told our
source that attendance figures have been dropping substantially from big Elvis events over
the last few years and that the technology for the show is old.

Alarmingly, the fan leader told our source, one type of Elvis event that ticket sales hare
increasing are those featuring events featuring IMPS.

ELVIS IN CONCERT UPDATE - Some information sent in to us states that several
promoters and fan clubs are hyping the news which claims this will be the last tour in which
the original TCB band takes part in?

However, one European Elvis fanclub magazine writer tells how he met James Burton in
Vienna a few days ago and asked him about this rumour? Apparently, James simply stood
shaking his head. Time will tell I guess!

HAWAII '61 FORMAT vs CONTENT - A couple of days after the Memphis Recording
Service announced their upcoming release
"Such A Night In Pearl Harbor" on CD featuring
the charity concert and the never before released radio broadcast which promoted the
concert the previous week. The disc is housed in a hardback 100 page book filled with rare
photos and the concert is reported to be a vast improvement on the 'Elvis Aron Presley' Boxset
release.

Then, bootleg label, "3764 BLVD Publishing", formerly known as 'Gravel Road Music'
suddenly announced their next release, "For God And Country" which features, the same
content as the M.R.S title, including the never before released radio broadcast (what are the
odds huh?) and a 24 page book.

The Memphis Recording Service release is a legal music release and therefore will be made
available to everyone and at a very affordable price compared to the bootleg release of the
very same material at probably double the price?

Now, '3764 BLVD" have announced a "Deluxe Edition" or the serious collector (that usually
means very expensive?). The Deluxe Edition of
"Hawaii For God and Country" hardcover
book 112+pages. With the audio CD (featuring the benefit show & Radio broadcast.)
A beautiful reproduction of the original ticket (For this edition only)
High "Quality" Long play album (180 gram Vinyl)
The limited reproduction of A large exquisite autographed promo photo only
given to the first 1000 ticket buyers in 1961. (For this edition only)

JUDGE SAYS "SELL IT!" - AT LAST! The epic
story of the infamous TCB Bus is coming to a close at
last.......we hope? For years E.E.R has  battled to stop
what was once J.D. Sumner & The Stamps tour bus
from being wrongfully promoted as being used by
Elvis as his own tour bus!

For months now Bill Kinard and Tupelo luxury tour
bus owner, Larry Michaels have been in a legal battle
regarding monies owed to Michaels by Kinard for the
original transferring of the bus from Yakama, Washington to East Tupelo and also for a
complete restoration of the bus both inside and out.

After being given plenty of time by a judge, to come up with the total monies owed on the bus,
Bill Kinard was not able to achieve by the shut off date which was yesterday, the 28th January.
As of yesterday, the judge gave orders for the bus to be auctioned off.

The bus will not have a reserve price along with not having a fixed starting price. All those
wishing to make a bid will be looked at in 60 days from yesterday and then sold to the
highest bidder.

Let's hope that whoever buys this bus, they will NOT try to make false claims that it was ever
owned and or used by Elvis Presley as part of his tours during 1976 and 1977.

The Bus is being held by
www.busforsale.com, owner John Spellings will be taking all bids
you can call him at: (615) 859-1998 or email for questions at:

JERRY SCHEFF'S BOOK - Due for a March 1st release is
"Way Down Playing Bass With Elvis, Dylan The Doors & More'.
The long awaited 256 page autobiography by  Jerry Scheff and
published by Backbeat.

In this candid and perceptive memoir of his 45-year career,
bassist Jerry Scheff takes us onto Elvis' private jet, on tour with
Bob Dylan, and into the studio with the Doors.

A stalwart presence behind some of the greatest names of
popular music, Scheff has also played with Roy Orbison, Elvis
Costello, the Association, Neil Diamond, Johnny Mathis, the
Everly Brothers, John Denver, and Nancy Sinatra, to name just a
few. Eschewing hype, Scheff provides a behind-the-scenes
perspective, from having worked sleeves rolled up, side by side, with the great artists in their
factories.

The book opens with the TCB band's learning of the King's death while en route to a tour
date, a pivotal moment for him, the rest of the band, and the world at large. He then proceeds
on a nonlinear journey that mirrors the process of true life-reflection, from his roots in San
Francisco to his touring all over the world.

This is a tale of a man who has truly grown a career from a genuine love of music and of his
instrument, proving how following that gift can bring a person to places beyond his wildest
dreams. It is an exciting inside view of the evolution and craft and work of making rock and
roll - a must-have for true music craftsmen and music junkies in general.
