Hi Lee,
Another great show Friday.  Just wanted to comment on a something brought up on the show.

First let me preface it with I am not a defender of anyone but myself.  I'm just an observer and form my own
opion:  I shared on another Elvis site that based on Lisa Marie's blog:  I think her reason for marrying Michael
was to try and do for Michael what she could not do for her Dad 33 years ago.  He was in the same situation
and I guess she thought now as an adult she might be able to help.   Unfortunately she found out what others
around Elvis realized is that you can't help someone that doesn't want to help themselves.
She is now (as she observed) re-living what she experienced with her Dad's death.  I thought the union was
odd and it's sad that this situation is bringing up bad memories for her.
Take care and Have a good week

Yet another great show Lee & Joe.
It seems the general feeling is that Parker was...in the style of Rindercella...Mucking Foney Brabbing
Gastard! LOL!
Yet it seems there is always some idiot that just cannot see how power hungry and greedy, Parker was.
These people will never be told and think THEY are always correct in their views, despite the comments of
people where were actually CHEATED by Parker.

They must also think that the 69 Memphis sessions were a flop like Parker wanted them to be. Which brings
me to another point....all the people who are SO against Marty Lacker, may like to remember it was Marty's
idea for Elvis to record in Memphis and he should be thanked for SUCH a great move on Elvis' part. Just look
at the outcome! It was the best Elvis output in years.

So to all the people who are so against Marty, maybe they should just think what he actually did for Elvis AND
US. It really *isses me off when people slag Marty off yet still want to ask him questions through EER about
Elvis. These two-faced winkers should be ashamed of themselves instead of acting like they are better than
anyone else!

I for one appreciate all that Marty does for EER and us, the fans, so Thank you Marty!
Finally, if you can afford to donate to EER this month it would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Thank you for playing my request of My Boy (which just about kills me every time I hear it) and for dedicating
it to all of my wonderful Elvis friends in America.

I went to live in Lauderdale Courts as soon as it opened to the public and my goal was to live there as long
as Elvis but, I exceeded it. He was there 3.4 years and I was there for 4 years. Leaving was very emotional
since I was successful in creating a happy home where I welcomed all Elvis fans in for a drink (margueritas or
martini's) or a cup of tea. I made so many friends and truly felt more at home there than anywhere else in
America. I will be back.

I just wanted to say that I absolutely agree with you both about the Colonel. I think he was very instrumental
in skyrocketing Elvis to the top at the right time and also had great skill with merchandising but, as years went
by, it was obvious that he had the opposite affect on Elvis' career. I truly believe that one of the reasons Elvis
died was because he had lost control of his creative decisions for too long and for whatever reason, couldn't
tell this to the Colonel and take charge of his own life.

The movie I wish Elvis had done........The Rainmaker. His audition was said to be brilliant and it scared the
Colonel as he wanted Elvis to do musicals. It would have changed everything for Elvis and he could have
become a truly gifted actor with the right roles.

One helluva show this week fella's, loved every second of it.
It was fascinating to hear about how the Colonel treated people, treated Elvis and used him and everyone
around him. Scotty Moore was a real eye opener for me, saying Parker wanted to push out everyone who
was with Elvis before he came along. Parker has so much to answer for.
The acetates were amazing to find out about and I wonder how many fans have these in their collections?
All in all Lee and Joe, a really great show.

Hi Lee and Joe,
I used to think the Colonel used to get a tough break from the fans but now I change my mind completely. I
am appauled to find out what this man did to Elvis and people around him. And also ripping off people like
Steve Binder and Chips Moman, two people who could have helped get Elvis more contemporary material etc
but instead Parker alienated them because he knew that they knew more than he did about what was best for
Elvis. Parker robbed Elvis and us of so much.

Sirius radio should grab these guys and get them on board, or at the very least the Elvis Request show

more Elvis fans don’t get to hear and enjoy this amazing show that is possibly the only radio show that
actually gives 100% to Elvis and the fans and yet at the same time this show is honest and in your face. Lee

I read with interest the comments made about Binder and Bones Howe not receiving their royalties for the
music on the '68 Special, I have one better.

Everyone rightfully claims how great the '69 sessions at American Studios are, and that the singles and
albums are the best thing Elvis did in years after the 50's and early 60's and were not matched in the 70's,
well here's a flash for you ... Chips Moman has not received one penny royalty for any of it to this day.  He
got paid a paltry sum during the session, $25,000 to be exact but that was supposed to be for just one
album.  Since then numerous singles and albums were released and RCA,EPE and Parker have made
millions from it.
How's that for being cheated and appreciated for revitalizing Elvis' recording career.

Eye opening details about Colonel Conman and his dirty tricks, I wonder if we will get such honest information

GREAT information on those acetates by the way, my God there really are people out there who have these
things in their collections and think they are worth loads of money. Lee is right though, dealers who sell these
things, should do their homework before selling them on as rare acetates. Or do they and then just not give a
crap and sell them anyway?

Lee and Joe you two really are a fantastic team who are really rockin the Elvis radio. EER is an original, a
trend setter, a unique show and I love every minute of this excellent show

I had to laugh when you read out the news item about how wacko Jacko said Elvis was not important to him
and went into a rant and said that’s it you aint mentioning him no more lol.

What kind of entertainer says something like that? The bleached one was born in 1958, how on earth could
he have said Elvis was not important due to the time he grew up…of course he never grew up…Sorry but I
think he HATED the fact that Elvis was CROWNED the King by the public and press, and dear old Jacko
proclaimed HIMSELF the King of Pop and that is why he said what he did , he even had a problem with his
song ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ and threw a fit because he did not know Elvis had had a hit called that?
WHAT?????? This guy really was on a different planet wasn’t he. Entertainers from that same era credit Elvis
as being the groundbreaker that paved the way for others to follow, wacko Jacko could not even credit Elvis
at all.

Boy oh boy, that Colonel was a real dirt bag wasn’t he. He stabbed Hank Snow in the back, He stabbed
Gladys Presley in the back, he stabbed Steve Binder in the back, he stabbed Bones Howe in the back, Jerry
Leiber, Mike Stoller, Scotty Moore, Bill Black, Bob Neal and lord only knows who else…and still we get people
who come out with crap like Leo and the guy who wrote that article on EER who say Elvis would have been
nothing without the old carny conman and that Elvis and Parker were the greatest team in music
history……Sorry but in reality after the first few years Parker turned Elvis into a mockery and threw his artistic
potential way out the window. It was only Elvis’ pure talent that made him stay on top DESPITE giving Elvis
poor movies, second rate songs, repetitive concerts and terrible album releases like ‘Burning Love & Hits
From His Movies’, ‘Separate Ways’, ‘Let’s Be Friends’, ‘C’mon Everybody’ and even when Elvis got to release
new albums, they contained many 2nd rate songs thanks to Parker and his pre-historic demands of part
owning publishing rights etc.

Brilliant show again guys and thanks for pointing us into the direction of that amazing article by Piers
Beagley, what a great informative article it is.

Lee you are so right, the pro Colonel camp will try to defend his actions but the fact is old Parker was a
conman who had no clue how to work for Elvis Presley. One part of the article I liked should be read by these
pro Parker lot who seem to think he was so wonderful; “The job of a manager should be to translate their
client's aspirations into reality with the hope of exciting their audiences, along with the possibly of making a
profit. If Elvis wanted to try a world tour then Parker should have made it happen”. You see, the manager is
supposed to do what the ARTIST wants to do, Parker wanted to be a celebrity and that is why he started to
promote almost everything as Elvis & The Colonel. I am in total agreement with Lee when he says he hates
that Elvis & The Colonel crap. Elvis Presley is the star, the talent, the entertainer, the reason Parker is rich
and famous.

I am so looking forward to the Charles Stone book ‘My Years With Elvis & The Colonel’ because it should be
interesting to hear about what it was like on tour with Elvis, although, like Lee and Joe, I am expecting it to be
very pro-Colonel, I just hope we don’t get any of that bull###t about Elvis could not tour the world because of
the drugs, or there were no venues big enough or security would be impossible. For the money Praytome are
charging I sure hope this book is going to deliver and we are not going to be ripped off and hear all about
stuff that has nothing to do with Elvis and his manager, Tom Parker.

You know what, I feel sorry for the fans of Wacko Jacko but I am so fed up of people on TV saying that
Jackson was bigger than Elvis and all that bull. I remember once of EER and I am not sure if it was within
these past 500 odd shows or with Lee and Jim, but someone wrote in and requested a Jackson song and left
a message "Michael Jackon is King, Elvis is Dead...Get over it". How unfortunate it is for people like them to
now be experiencing how hurt it feels to have your idol die.

Lee and Joe I absolutely loved listening to the show and was enthralled at some of the things Parker pulled at
Elvis and other peoples expense. I was in shock to learn Parker gave his word to Steve Binder and the other
guy that there would be no album or singles as a result of the 68 TV special, so there was no need to sign an
agreement over production rights etc and to this day they have never received a single penny from the sales
of anything to do with the show. The acetates are a real eye opener and I have to say good on you guys for

I’ve got to say how much I enjoyed this show and how hosts Lee and Joe put their say over to the listeners
and make the show something more than just someone sitting in their bedroom playing Elvis songs and
telling us what we know already….”and that was ‘Hound Dog’ released in 1956…” and so on and so forth. I
really enjoyed my first time listening and I will certainly be listening to more and more shows.

I have to strongly disagree with most of the stuff coming from Leo but none more so than when he said
without Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis would never have been as big as he is today? What a pointless thing to
say. Sorry but history shows that the Colonel made some of the most selfish choices  and I have to thank
God that the truth is coming from people like song writers Leiber & Stoller and Elvis’ buddy Marty Lacker as
we finding out more and more how Parker prevented Elvis from recording better and more contemporary
music through the 1970’s. Otherwise we would be stuck with more and more pro-colonel propaganda crap
like the stuff I read in the article on EER about Elvis & the Colonel. In that article, the writer points to the
conclusion (as did Leo), that without Andreas Cornelis van Kuijk (you know, that guy who for many years
claimed to have been born in America, but was eventually found to have been lying all those years and was
actually born in Breda, Netherlands, to Dutch parents), Elvis would never have been as popular as he is and
would be "A vague memory of the mid fifties". I for one was so pleased to see Marty and other sensible fans
making a point to call the author on some of the stuff coming out of his mind. I think he and this Leo would
get on well together.

I want to also thank the hosts for standing up for Elvis regarding that customised gold Crapillac from George
Barris. It really is the ugliest thing and I sure hope it was'nt once Elvis’ car now destroyed by someone trying
to make it more than it really is. And the least said about the nut job who claims Wynonna Judd is the secret
love child of Elvis the better.

Thanks again EER for a really entertaining show. I love the fact that its all about Elvis, his music, his life and
his fans, and like I said before, I will certainly be listening in to these shows again.

statement is saying we are in cahoots).

If that is the case then my answer is to Leo, whoever he is.....? I have not only NOT teamed up with them, I
haven't seen nor talked to them in over 40 years. I had no idea what they wrote on the subject in their book
until I read it on E.E.R.  What Lee and Joe were trying to say, is because of our personal and separate
association with Elvis for many years, Leiber and Stoller and I saw and experienced the same things
regarding the colonel's tactics and the way it was detrimental to Elvis and we came away with the same
opinion about him. In no way are we in cahoots with each other.

Great Show on Friday It was Great.
When you play that 45 of treat me nice that was on ebay I found it surprising that both versions sounded

Also I laughed when you said that someone on a different site said that wynonna was elvis daughter just
because she sang a song with Elvis in the title.

When that person said that Marty Lacker and Leiber & Stoller teamed up to make out the Colonel controled
Elvis' music career...sorry but the very thought of a joint effort is ridiculous and laughable.

And as for saying Elvis would be nothing without the Colonel Yes, that is degrading to Elvis as the greatest
entertainer the world has ever known. Talk about a fan having no respect for Elvis Presley! Keep up all the
great shows.

Also when you said that the only song that the colonel asked elvis to record was it's now or never wasn't the
song  he asked elvis to record Are You Lonesome Tonight (I may be wrong).

I love listening to EER so much, it could be one the actual radio, that’s how great it is. EER is not afraid to get

I have no idea if Leo was for real or if he was being so obnoxious that he was doing nothing more than
provoking you? Leo, if you are for real then I am lost for words because your comment was ridiculous and
Lee and Joe were so right in their response to your claims.

I too have been waiting for the FTD vinyl releases and have vowed to never order any more from them
because I am so fed up of this type of thing happening. Lee and Joe spoke last week about the Jimmi Hendrix
collectors label and how much more value for money they are! Well, the 'Grateful Dead' has a collectors label
and so does  Jimmy Buffett and as with Hendrix, all these are cheaper and have the digipack format of FTD.
L & J good on you guys for bringing this up on your previous show as now there seems to be a closer look at

Message to Leo, sorry fella but you really need to wake up and realise that poor old Colonel was a control
freak and cared nothing for Elvis in the long term. He only ever cared enough to ensure he had payment for
years ahead. Lee is right, Elvis Presley’s movie years and concert years were an identical path, exciting start
but it eventually became stale, had the odd moment of genius.

Not sure what was in the water this week but what in earth was that loony on about Wynonna being the
daughter of Elvis and Naomi Judd signing a “keep silent clause”. What are these people on? Makes me

cars and this Barris guy bought it and then proceeded to create this disgusting Liberace style mess of a car.
Sorry but I do not believe Elvis would ever be seen in this thing.

As for the Leo chap and him telling Lee and Joe to shut up, this guy really is wandering around in his own
zone huh! I read similar things in an article on EER about the Colonel and in that article the writer creates this
entire made up conversation between Parker and a Canadian Border officer. Just like Leo, this writer does
not consider anyone right except him, but as we learn from Lee and Joe, the sarcastic Canadian passport
skit is pointless and blown out of the water because as Joe stated, you did not need a passport in 1957 to
cross to and from Canada. Sorry Leo but I believe Parker was a bully and thanks to his greed, prevented
Elvis from recording better quality songs and more critically acclaimed albums.

This week’s show was packed with interesting discussions and the usual amazing songs that the King left us.
The Parker debate will always go on but it’s pretty clear that Elvis was hampered by the greed of Parker and
as Marty Lacker points out, in 1956 when parker first insisted shared publishing rights, songwriters knew they
were almost guaranteed a million sales and would gladly sign over shared rights etc but parker insisted on
keeping this clause all through Elvis’ career and by the mid 60’s onwards Elvis was struggling to get the best
songs because of Parkers clause. My God, we know from Dolly Parton the type of demands Parker insisted
on and now we have Leiber and Stoller and the story about the song ‘Dont’ of how they were screamed at for
not putting the song through Parker first. I am looking forward to hearing from Joes interview with Michael
Jarrett and what the deal was for Elvis recording ‘Im Leavin’ and ‘Ill Be Home On Christmas Day’ and how
tough was it to get a song to Elvis?
Also, Joe Joe I am also waiting for my vinyl of Blue Hawaii and Standing Room Only to arrive. But I won't be
doing this again, sorry but I am at the end of my rope cos I am sick and tired of being charged so much
money for something that we have to wait and wait and wait for. FTD treat Elvis fans like dirt and charge us

billed as an equal with Elvis. Sorry but for me the Colonel should have been just like any other manager and
stay out of the limelight and be concerned with Elvis’ career and not his own fame and bank balance. How
anyone can say the Colonel did what was best for Elvis in the 60’s and 70’s is beyond me.

I also went over to the FBEI and took a look at the customized gold Cadillac and all IU can say to that is
LMFAO, what a horrible mess. IF that really was Elvis’ car, how sad it has been destroyed by turning it into
that moving sick bucket.

Another enjoyable show with many things discussed and many great songs played.
I hope many listeners will give you some feedback on things talked about and I will by saying that I have to
agree with Lee and Joe in relation to what Leo wrote in. I love it how Leo attacks Lee and Joe for their opinion
and yet his email is telling them what happened, almost demanding that his belief is the only one? As for the
remark at how Marty Lacker and Leiber & Stoller have teamed up to make out the Colonel controled Elvis'
music career...sorry but the very thought of a joint effort is ridiculous and laughable.
I amn with Lee and Joe on this whole issue and after reading what Leiber & Stoller had to say blew me away
because I knew the Colonel controlled Elvis but not to the extent of telling Elvis who he could and could not
hang out with. Yes, Elvis was at fault for not telling the Colonel where to get off but then again if it is true that
the Colonel would always threaten to sue Elvis for all he has if he sacked him, I can imagine Elvis feeling
bullied into a corner. EXCELLENT SHOW guys and as for the crank who reckons Elvis is the father of
Wynonna Judd..........OMG!

I loved this weeks show, and can I quickly say thank you Lee for promoting Armed Forces Day and for
encouraging others to support our brave men and woman.
When Joe statred to read out Leo's letter I thought he was joking and then it hit me that this guy really does
believe the BS that was coming from his mind, talk about in denial!
I'm sorry but I just cannot understand how any Elvis fan can believe the tripe that comes out from the Colonel
camp and have the blame of Elvis' movies, concerts, songs and now world tour firmly at the feet of Elvis.
Over the years we have heard from various people, including movie directors and producers who have all
said in the past that when the Colonel was to be shown a script, he would say "All I need to know is the
money". And as for saying Elvis would be nothing without the Colonel....Lee was so right to say what he did.
Yes, that is degrading to Elvis as the greatest entertainer the world has ever known. Talk about a fan having
no respect for Elvis Presley! On the contrary, without Elvis, the Colonel would have been managing dancing
chickens all his life and for me it shows how talented Elvis was, because he became as great as he did even
though his manager was getting him some of the worst movies, the worst music and later in life monotonous
concert tours around and around in any-town, USA.
Amazing show Lee and Joe, keep em coming boys.

3 hours of wonderful music and entertaining hosts.
I was listening to what Lee and Joe was saying about the Colonel and I feel so sorry for Elvis and at the same
time anger at him for not getting rid of the Colonel years ago.
Lee sums it up brilliant when he says Elvis is as great as he is. Imagine what he could have been with better
management? The thought is awesome.

What a great show this week Lee and Joe.
Good on you both for standing up against what the guy Leo wrote in. Sorry, I am an Elvis fan, and as Lee
has said in the past, not a Priscilla fan, or Lisa Marie fan or am I a Colonel fan. I AM AN ELVIS FAN. Lee was
right that the 60's and the 70's are almost indentical in the excitement of a new turning point in his career and
then after the repeat of the same old same old Elvis grew bored of the fact that he had no more challenges
to overcome and with a career going nowhere and a manager telling you what you can record and who you
can hang out with it's no wonder Elvis sort refuge in drugs. It’s not fair to put this on Elvis and the Colonel
should take his place as the man who ruined Elvis Presley and not the man who made Elvis Presley. And
Lee, you were close but what the Colonel actually said in that interview was "Elvis gets half of what I earn, not
the other way round".

Whoever it was who says Wynonna Judd is the daughter of Elvis has been sitting too close to the microwave.
Way to go Lee and Joe for pointing out these loony tunes for us lol.
I saw the custom gold Cadillac and I'm so with the guys on this one also. It is disgusting and no way was that
being customised for Elvis and more fool anyone who not only believes such trash, but buys such trash.

Nice request show.  Good to hear Joe on the whole show as radio host.   Give him more requests to read.  :-
)  I like the different topics you come up with.

By the way I read somewhere (not sure where) that the suit Elvis was laid to rest in was given to him by
Vernon for Christmas!! How's that for a wrench in the mystery!!

Kudos!!  to Marty Lacker for clarifying to Tony King that Elvis although as much as we know he was a very
talented very magnetic person was just as human as we were.
But we love him very  much just the same.

Thanks again for your great shows.  :-)

Thanks to the advice of the FBEI we bagged ourselves a bargain - Perfect For Parties EP - the vinyl is in
excellent condition although the cover has some age marks on the corner - but its great to have this in our
collection.

We are glad we checked it out with the guys first because we had been looking at another one which turned
out to be fake! So we're glad that L&J take the time to sniff out these bogus items.

Looking forward to another great week on EER - The Mother of All Elvis Radio shows.

hadn't eaten or drank anything prior to hearing it LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!! I almost had a cow hearing you guys....so
fun and entertaining!

You guys are really awesome! Thanks so much for not only keeping Elvis' memory alive, but also for
providing a place where all fans, regardless of who they are or where they come from, a fun and friendly
place to gather and forget the troubles of the outside world. Keep doing what you're doing, and wishing you
much continued success!

P.S. No, I'm cutting you some slack this week and will not request "Old MacDonald". However, you never

Hey Lee, The request show was fantastic the three hours went by so quickly. I agree that the story from
George Kalinsky is absolute B.S. I can never understand why people feel the need to make stuff up like this?
I think they do this because they get a taste of being part of the Elvis story and they want more, more, more.
Also I love it now that Joe is on the show for the whole three hours it is great to hear the discussions between
